Subjects Taught
Pre K, Special Education

I received my Bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee and my family follows the VOLS.   I earned my Master in Education from Lynchburg College in Virginia with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education, birth to age 5.  I pursued my Educational Specialist degree at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, in curriculum and instruction.  I am TEACCH trained for working with children with Autism from the University of North Carolina.  I instructed teachers in eight east Tennessee counties in completing Functional Behavior Assessmentsin while working with the Make a Difference Project at East Tennessee State University as a behavior specialist before coming to Catoosa County. Most recently, I have received my certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.

I have served as a preschool special education teacher at Ringgold Primary School since joining Catoosa County schools in 2004.   I began my educational career in Virginia in 1998.  I have worked with the preschool special needs population for my entire career. This is what I love.  I prepare to serve young children with multiple disabilities and delays each year and every year is a new experience.

I married my best friend Pete in 1982.  We have two daughters, two son-in-loves, two grandsons and a brand new granddaughter.  My husband and I enjoy kayaking and travel.  I am teaching myself the ukulele and I'm terrible!  But it's lots of fun.

It is a privilege to work with Sharon Gass, Stefanie Jansen and Rae Ann Enos. We take the responsibility of serving your children seriously and continue to strive to provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment for your children to learn and grow.   With experience working in three states, I can tell you that Ringgold Primary is a remarkable example of what education for young children should look like. I am honored to serve here.
