Principal Announcements
How can this be December? The first semester will quickly be coming to an end. Your children have several busy weeks ahead of them. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be completing benchmark assessments. Kindergarten is discussing community, measurements, color words, CVC words. First grade is working on blends, story elements, retell, predictions, and strategies to solve for 10. Second grade is working on how character traits impact a story, adjectives, adding detail to their writing, and place value to 1,000.
All K-2 students are attending field trips on Dec.16 and Christmas parties are Dec. 21.
A huge thank you to our morning car riders. All car riders have been dropped off by 8:00 am. This certainly helps students and teachers get their day started by not feeling rushed.
Your children are reminded of the following daily:
Be Respectful, Be Polite and Be Safe.
Ask them to share with you the behavioral expectations set in place for the cafeteria, hallway and restrooms.
There will be no school from Dec. 22 until Jan. 5. All students will return on Jan. 6.
We appreciate as always your allowing RPS to be a part of your child’s educational experience.

Notes from the Nurse
Please keep students who are sick home from school and be aware of unusual upper respiratory symptoms, fatigue, and loss of smell and taste. If your child is having multiple symptoms, it is advised you contact their physician for guidance. It is now more important than ever to keep your child home if they are sick.
If someone in your household is being tested for Covid-19, please notify the school nurse and keep your child/children home until the results are obtained. If someone in your home tests positive for Covid-19, please notify the school nurse immediately and do not send your child to school. The school nurse will help you determine the next steps and your child's designated quarantine period. If this occurs, you may contact us via the website link "Contact the Nurse" and complete the appropriate link, and we will contact you as soon as possible.
