What is Title I?

What is Title 1?Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to state and local educational agencies to meet the needs of students in schools with higher free and reduced lunch counts. The goal of Title I is to provide instructional services and activities which support students in meeting the state's challenging performance standards.

Componets of a Title I Schoolwide Program

What does Title I do for our children? Title I provides extra funding for our schools to provide more resources as we educate our children.

Smaller classes or special instructional spaces
Additional teachers and paraprofessionals
Opportunities for professional development
A variety of supplementary methods
Individualized programs for students
Additional teaching materials that supplement regular instruction
